Asiya's professional career began in 2001. In 2003 she joined Murad Jamil & Associates (MJA), Islamabad, as a Senior Architect under the mentorship of Arch. Murad Jameel, MJA's Principal Architect and CEO — a tenure that ran through 2009 and resumed in a further engagement from 2020 to 2024. Across those years she led design and execution work on corporate offices, banks, educational institutions, hospitals and government projects for major national and multinational clients (see Notable Engagements below).

He shaped how I think as an architect, and that foundation is something I remain genuinely grateful for."

That foundation became the basis for Waseelah Ansari Associates, established in 2014, which Asiya has led since as Principal Architect — taking on architecture, planning and interior design projects independently across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore and beyond, including international BIM-based project work delivered remotely.

Alongside her practice, Asiya has worked since 2011 as BIM Instructor, Project Director & Coordinator at SofTechniak Pvt Ltd, training professionals in Revit and BIM workflows at weekends — the same hands-on, real-project-based teaching approach that now underpins WAA Skill Studio, the firm's in-house training academy.
